Top Websites in Ghana

So when I was working for a multinational digital media firm part of my job was to convince people to care about us, like us! I had to send out proposals and sometimes do pitches where I would (I won’t say lie) embellish the truth because the real truth just didn’t dazzle. I personally had issues with it. I’m more of a “truth is our stats are shit but we’ve got a plan and I want you to buy into that plan” type of person, where I guess our top seller was probably more like “we’re freaking amazing let me show my stats! oh you have stats that say i’m lying? well they’re lying!” Maybe that’s why I wasn’t top seller! haha, I don’t mind bullshitting but give me some truth to work with at least!

Anyways so because of that job I find myself, even now that I don’t work there anymore, going onto alexa.com (I trust it cos its run by Amazon) and checking out the top 100 websites in Ghana list. Are you ready?

  100. Kaymu

So there you go. altogether I think it’s clear to say there are too many ad click sites in that list and what we can only hope are pop-ups rather than native requests for certain types of online content. I’m sure Kaymu will rise up the ranks quickly, just as Pulse Ghana has got to 60-something since launching in December 2014. MyJoyOnline as an online news-site would be happy to be in the top 10 and to have over-taken GhanaWeb, whose stats seem to be well known and well praised amongst many marketers. That’s what doing my job does to you, it ruins the internet for you cos all you can think is I wonder how many clicks that ad’s getting, how many page views these guys got this week and how many they’re telling potential clients that they’re getting! 😛

*ps. OLX 105; Jumia 109; Ghana Motion 111; Chelsea FC 113; Supabets 115; Pinterest 118; HuffPo 128; Man Utd 133; ESPN 138; Daily Guide 139; AllSports 140; Forbes 146; World Bank 148; Whatsapp 149; Tune In 161; NairaLand 162; Linda Ikeji 175; Jobs in Ghana 180; UCC 184
